Julian Nicholls is a dual national of the United States and United Kingdom. He received his LL.M. in Public International Law, Specialisation in International Criminal Law, cum laude, from Leiden University Law School. Julian received his JD With Distinction from Emory Law School in Atlanta, Georgia, and his BA in History and Sociology from the University of Oregon Honors College in Eugene, Oregon. Julian worked as a criminal defence attorney with the New Hampshire Public Defender for 6 years before moving to The Netherlands.
In 2000, Julian joined the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICTY, where he worked as a Trial Attorney and later as a Senior Trial Attorney. Since January 2014 Julian has worked as a Senior Trial Lawyer with the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC.
